# What a number for SMS verification costs today
SV Number team Catalogue checked 7 Aug 2026

You pay for one number and the code it receives. Across the 40 apps in the table below, the usual price sits between $0.03 and $1.03, and the country you pick moves it either way. Every figure here comes from the same catalogue the picker uses, rebuilt every day, last checked on 7 Aug 2026.

## You pay per number, not per month

Top up a balance, take a number when you need one, and that is the whole arrangement. Nothing renews on its own.

- The number is yours alone for 20 minutes, which is the window a verification code needs.
- If the code never arrives, the money returns to your balance, so a failed attempt costs nothing.
- Numbers run on real SIM cards from mobile carriers, so apps treat them as ordinary phones.
- Prices differ by app and by country, because that is where our own cost differs.

## Price per number, app by app

These are the 40 apps with the deepest pools of numbers, familiar names first. **Typical** is the middle price across every country that has the app, so the country you pick moves it up or down from there.

## Why the price differs by country

Two things set the price: what the numbers cost us in that country, and how many are left in the pool. A country where numbers are scarce is dearer than one that is well stocked, and both move during the day as numbers get taken. On the last check Google, youtube, Gmail sat at $0.23 in the middle and reached $0.45 in the dearest country.

Country pages carry the number for a single pairing, with the size of the pool and how many recent activations received the code: see [numbers by country](https://smsverify.pro/countries) or [numbers by app](https://smsverify.pro/services).

## What these numbers will not do

Worth knowing before you pay.

- Banks and government portals are out. They verify identity documents and residency, and no phone number gets around that.
- They will not recover an old account. Recovery goes to the number already on the account, which is the one you lost.
- They are not a SIM replacement. The number takes a code and expires; it is not for calls or for staying reachable.
- Payment wallets such as PayPal are fine. The restriction above is about banks and state services.

## Paying for it

You top up a balance and spend it a number at a time. Crypto, cards, PayPal and several regional methods are accepted; each carries its own processing fee, shown at checkout before you confirm. Crypto costs the least to top up with.

## FAQ

### Do I pay monthly for a number?

No. You top up a balance and pay for each number you take. There is no plan and no recurring charge.

### What happens if the code never arrives?

The number expires after 20 minutes and the money goes back to your balance, so an attempt that failed costs you nothing.

### Why is the same app cheaper in one country than another?

The price follows what the numbers cost us in that country and how many are left in the pool. Scarce countries cost more, well-stocked ones cost less, and both move during the day.

### Can I use these numbers for a bank or a government portal?

No. Those services check identity documents and residency, not just a phone number. Payment wallets such as PayPal are fine.
